Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films

The Spin Cycle short film has been accepted into the 11th Annual Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films & Short Film Market, held from September 20-26, 2005 at the Camelot Theaters. The exact screening date has yet to be set.

The largest short film festival and market in North America screens approximately 350 films from over 40 countries annually. Over the past 10 years, 46 of the short films nominated for Academy Awards have played at the Festival, with six of the nominated films screened at last year’s Festival. Up 10 % from last year, setting a new record, the Festival received more than 2,400 submissions.

Once again we'd like to thank the many moviegoers and filmmakers that have given us their feedback. As with all creative work, feedback can have a very wide range. Desert Reel Film Festival

The Spin Cycle has been accepted into the Desert Reel Film Festival. The festival takes place April 21 - 24, 2005.

Screening dates and times will be posted as they become available. You can also visit the Desert Reel Film Festival web site for more details on the festival.

The Desert Reel Film Festival is West Texas' premiere independent film event. Panel discussions, question/answer sessions with filmmakers, parties, personalities, workshops and most importantly – films – come together for a one-of-a-kind West Texas celebration each spring.

Florida Film Festival

The Spin Cycle has been accepted into the Florida Film Festival. The festival takes place April 8 -17, 2005.

The Florida Film Festival is one of the best-respected regional film events in the nation. The festival features an American Independent Competition with Grand Jury Awards for Narrative Feature, Narrative Short, Documentary Feature, and Documentary Short. It also features Special Jury Awards and Audience Awards for best Narrative Feature, Documentary Feature, Short Film, International Feature, and International Short. The Florida Film Festival is a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards in the category of Live Action Short.

New York New Filmmakers Series

The Spin Cycle has been selected to be screened at the New York New Filmmakers Series. The screening will take place at 7:00 PM, March 23, 2005 at the Anthology Film Archives in New York City. The Spin Cycle will be part of the New Filmmakers Short Film Program.

The New Filmmakers Series gives independent filmmakers a chance to get their work directly to the public and gives New York audiences the chance to see outstanding new films. For more details, visit the New York New Filmmakers Series on-line.

2004 WESTfest Film Festival

The 2004 WESTfest Film Festival has announced that The Spin Cycle has been officially selected as one of 20 films to be screened during the festival. The Spin Cycle will screen during Program A which is set to start a 7:30 PM on Friday, October 15. The festival will be held at the historic Paramount Theater in Abilene, TX on October 15-16, 2004. 18th Annual Dallas Video Festival

The Spin Cycle has been accepted into the 18th Annual Dallas Video Festival which runs from August 2-7, 2005. The film will screen in the Kalita Humphries Theater on Saturday, August 06 at 10:00 PM.

Since 1986 The Dallas Video Festival has specialized in fiercely independent, imaginative, unusual, provocative and sometimes description-defying electronic media. In fact, they are the oldest and the largest video festival in the nation. They are here to cut through the chatter and bring you images and sounds with viewpoints and voices and visual styles that you don’t often see or hear. They show everything from intelligent, witty 30-second television commercials, mesmerizing video art, compelling documentaries, surrealistic animation, innovative digital features, intelligent, kid-friendly fare, thought-provoking panels, interdisciplinary performances, and narrative shorts that somehow surprise, inspire and entertain.

Round Rock Filmmakers Get A Boost

A pair of Round Rock film makers get a big financial boost for their current project. Willie Nelson has agreed to help finance a movie made by Dominique and Jamie Preyer. The Williamson County movie producers have two scripts in the works including a dark comedy called The Funeral Singer they are currently shooting in the area.

Round Rock Leader Interview

A Round Rock couple, Dominique and Jamie Preyer, that have a signed letter of intent from Willie Nelson to make a short film that Jamie Preyer wrote the screenplay for, is looking for investors to make that film, called Jessie's Dreamsnake - and to invest in the film they are currently making, called The Funeral Singer. Red Wasp Film Festival

The Spin Cycle still has life as it is an official selection of the 4th Annual Red Wasp Film Festival. The Red Wasp Film Festival takes place in Bryan, TX on Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21.

Beginning at 8 PM each evening, the festival will screen at three main venues throughout downtown Bryan: Conlee Auctions (601 Bryan St.), Revolution Cafe (211B South Main St., in Carnegie Alley) & upstairs at Caffe Capri (222 N. Main St.).

Tickets for the event will be available each evening at Conlee Auctions. Tickets can be purchased for each night at $15/night or for both nights at $25.
